The e-bike can be seen on every corner of every street nowadays. At e-bike manufacturer Trefecta they had the wish to develop an e-bike with both a high top speed as well as a very high torque to take off on a hill with rough terrain. Due to the relatively small size and high performance of the Smesh Gear an electric motor of only 4 kW was sufficient.
With its 20-inch aluminium frame and 26-inch six spoke wheels it’s quite an appearance. The robust frame provides space to a 4 kW electric motor which delivers power through a Smesh Gear transmission to the back wheel. In standard mode, the electric motor provides pedal support. When the cyclist wants to reach the top speed of 70km/h a twist of the throttle will make sure the electric motor fully takes over. A torque of 375 Nm can be sent to the back wheel.
